Why do girls care so much about beauty?

Hello all! I was wondering why girls care so much about beauty. When I say beauty, I dont mean why does a 300 lb. person want to weigh 115 lbs., I mean why do already pretty/attractive girls try to overload on makeup and wear skimpy clothes. From my experiences, they will only get attention from guys who want sex. And the guys talk about them bad anyways and call them sluts and skanks. So why do girls want to look overly sexy and reform themselves head to toe (tanning, hair products, goopy makeup that makes them untouchable, uncomfortable clothes/shoes) and spend hours getting ready for a club esp if they are already pretty.

Girls are too insecure these days, we feel we have a lot to live up to. All actresses are a size 2 and have plastic surgery.
It’s a way girls are these days…i am not BIG of being all that but it does not hurt to be girly once in a while…my sister spends 4hours a day on her hair and make-up she is just crazy…i just put mine in a pony tail and for make up i only use lipgloss lol it only takes me 5min. and i am done. and sorry if i cant answer your question that much lol i am wondering the same thing…

idk but my girlfriends takes 2 hours to get ready
well a 300 pound person should really lose weight cause that aint healthy! and us girls just want to feel good and pampered! =p and not everyone wears skanky crap. girls who over do the skankiness/slutiness are insecure and some are prolly influenced by stuff around these days, they want to be perfect like the most beautiful stars! and sleeping with guys make them feel hot and “wanted” and thus feeling better than others.
Some, as what you see see themselves as objects of us men’s attention and desire.
Some hoewever “care so much about beauty” because they simply wanna feel good or extra good about themselves. We just cannot judge em from what kind of persons they are from the way they wear their clothes or make up.

Good question. I’m a woman and I always wondered that myself. There is so much more to life than make-up and the newest fashion.
When you are lying on your death bed, it isn’t going to matter that you took 2 hours to do your hair or you spent $300 on a new handbag. Trust me, it will be the last thing on your mind. You will wonder why you spent the majority of your life trying to impress and please other people.
I’m not saying that you shouldn’t take care of yourself but, often people go beyond that. It’s truly a waste of time and money.
i dont understand it either. i HATE abercrombie, hollister, american eagle etc., i HATE make up and perfume, once i went into an abercrombie store with my friends cuz they lik the clothes, and it smelled soo bad of perfume that i almost threw up on the clothes, and i almost passed out so i had to wait outside while they were shopping. i dont even care if im skinny or fat, i dont care about my apperances. i pretty much only wear athletic clothes (nike, adidas) and plain old T shirts. I ONLY HAVE 3 PAIRS OF SHOES…not cuz im poor, but cuz i dont lik shoes that u cant even run in, so they’re all running shoes. i LUV to get dirty and its really fun jumping into mud puddles…lol. i only spend 5 minutes throwing my clothes on, putting my hair up in a pony tail and brushing my teeth in the morning. call me a boy all u want, I DONT CARE

Girls care so much about beauty because they all want to look good.to be presentable to their bf or husband and there’s nothing wrong with that.That’s their way on how to show not only for herself but for all the people.And about your saying that it only get attention to the guys wants sex,will, that guys is maniac either and don’t know what is an art.
I think they want to make themselves looks good to acctract guys.
you need to look as good as you feel

they want to look good,pamper themselves so that it’ll make them feel good.
to boost their confidence.
to present themselves nicely.
basically just to look good.
its a girl’s nature.
you can get ready in 2 hours just to pick what to wear and set the hair. its natural.
i dont know bout the skimpy wearing girls though. that types probably wants more attention. but it wont hurt showing only bit of skin.
I’m a guy and if all this crap is about impressing us, then here is what the woman (She was a co-worker) who impressed me the most dressed like:
Gym shoes, white ankle socks, baby blue Addias sweat pants, a matching zipper hoodie, underneath that a white T Shirt, and her hair in a pony tail, It was hard to concentrate at work around her, because I could not stop thinking about her.
Unfortunately she married the millionaire, who owns a bunch of prime Chicago real estate apartment buildings, over my broke azz.
What my view is on all this crap, it is a media created image that is bull crap.
to answer your long question, girls do this to look PERFECT. not for the player guys, but for themselves. Now there is a limit on what you wear. but if you wear hot clothes, your make-up looks good then what the heck! That’s an issue here in the U.S- you cannot look extremely hot without people thinking your weird, or being incredibly jealous… kinda get what I’m sayin?
Some girls do it because they are insecure and think that by looking this way nobody will notice. Other’s do it because they like the way the look and don’t care what’s said about them. But most girls aren’t like that. I usually just wear jeans, a t-shirt, and a pair of flip-flops. And as far as makeup goes some light powder, blush and chapstick. But there are days I’ll put on the make-up and look nice just because I want to look pretty. Not for everybody else, but for me. I think this is how most women are.
they want to loOK like a slut. ok its harsh but yea. one day i wore my furry ugg boots n short shorts all the guys were hitting on me. n people said with in 2 mins they were talking about me n saying i looked like a slut. but anyways girls are so influenced or w.e u spell it by like Paris Hilton n other girls like that. they are forced to make them self’s pretty because they look at models modeling naked or etc. they dont realize that they should be who they are. i mean I’m sry have to admit i do dress like a slut sometimes. maybe they just want people to notice them n be the talk of the day. idk but those are the girls who are insecure about them self’s!!
